Jeph Loeb Offers An Update On MARVEL’s NETFLIX Shows
News about Marvel‘s five Netflix shows has come in spurts and starts. We know that Daredevil will be the first up with Jessica Jones, Iron, Fist, Luke Cage, and The Defenders to follow. That’s about it as far as news goes. Marvel‘s head of TV Jeph Loeb spoke with the good folks over at HitFix while on the red carpet at PlayFest and confirmed the current plans on how the five highly-anticipated shows will roll out over the next few years.
You can watch the full one-minute video below, but Loeb confirms that Daredevil will begin shooting this July in New York City. Following the Man Without Fear will be Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, Luke Cage, and then it all culminates in the gigantic crossover/team-up miniseries The Defenders. While Loeb was open with that news, when asked if the five shows would follow the House of Cards and Orange Is The New Black method of releasing the entire season in one shot, causing viewers to binge watch, he would only say Netflix will be “delighted by what we’re doing.” So good news on the Netflix front. Daredevil is easily the most recognizable hero out of the bunch, so it makes perfect sense he would be up first. While Loeb didn’t offer up much in the way of new information, he does start to give us an idea of how they are working on the series and roughly when we should start expecting to hear more official news. Hopefully casting news starts hitting soon with Daredevil starting up in four short months. What do you think about Loeb‘s confirmation and addition bit of detail?
