Jensen Ackles Would Love To Play Batman, But He Isn’t Holding His Breath
Ever since Zack Snyder took to the podium during the Warner Brother panel at Comic Con and announced that Batman would be joining Henry Cavill in the next Man Of Steel outing, there has just been one question on everyone’s mind. Who will play the new Batman? A number of actors have lobbied for the role in the past including True Blood star Joe Manganiello.
Another actor who seems to be throwing his name in the ring is Jensen Ackles. Ackles has been on fans radar for a number of superhero roles in that past, and frequently shows up in fan fiction. When asked if he would be interested in playing The Dark Knight he said, “Any guy in his right mind would die to play Batman. It would be a dream come true. I won’t hold my breath.”
Ackles has been close to playing superheros before. He was rumored to be producers next choice for Clark Kent in the TV show Smallville had Tom Welling not accepted, as well as voiced Jason Todd/Red Hood in the DC animated film Under The Red Hood. Ackles would later go on to have a big role in Smallville during season four as Jason Teague.
While it doesn’t seem likely that he will get the role, or that he is confident that he will. Ackles saying he wants the role is sure to put some smiles on some peoples faces.
