Jason Alexander Cast As Guardians Of The Galaxy’s Rocket Raccoon
NOT THAT WE NEED TO TELL YOU, BUT THIS WAS OUR APRIL FOOL’S DAY JOKE
Another addition to the Guardians of the Galaxy cast has been announced today. We know that Chris Pratt is Star-Lord and Dave Bautista is Drax, but in a surprising twist Jason Alexander has been selected to play Rocket Raccoon. The Seinfeld star was personally selected by director James Gunn to bring the wiry, gun-toting little mammal to life.
This will be Alexander’s first super hero related movie role since his outing in 1994s Blankman. Rocket Raccoon of course possesses the normal abilities of a regular raccoon, but he is also a master tactician and expert marksman. Everyone from Jim Carrey to H. Jon Benjamin has been mentioned for the role, but Alexander came out of nowhere to land the coveted position on the Guardians roster. Sources close to production say Alexander was a shoe-in when he showed up to auditions in a full raccoon suit. Before being called in, he was spotted rooting around in the garbage cans outside the studio. Because of this, the producers are seriously considering doing away with a CGI raccoon and letting Alexander go wild in the film with the suit he brought. What do you think of the addition? Are you buying any part of this Alexander as Rocket article?
