James Mangold Tweets Some New Behind The Scene Stills For The Wolverine

by

wolverine bannerDirector James Mangold has been Tweeting some behind the scenes stills he has taken during filming of The Wolverine today, but tonight he has released an impressive shot of Hugh Jackman rehearsing a fight scene with Hiro Sanada. The director calls it a clash of “claws and blades.” The newest shot is the first one in the series of Tweets below, but all of the images Mangold released today follow for completion’s sake. The pictures are a little more impressive than some of the things other comic book movie directors have been Tweeting the last couple of days. We get a decent look at Mangold‘s activities from framing a scene to working on the sound recording. What do you think of the new batch of images? The Wolverine slices its way into theaters July 26th.

Based on the celebrated comic book arc, this epic action-adventure takes Wolverine, the most iconic character of the X-Men universe, to modern day Japan. Out of his depth in an unknown world he faces his ultimate nemesis in a life-or-death battle that will leave him forever changed. Vulnerable for the first time and pushed to his physical and emotional limits, he confronts not only lethal samurai steel but also his inner struggle against his own immortality, emerging more powerful than we have ever seen him before.
