Fox is currently going full steam ahead with its X-Men franchise. In just a few months, the latest installment in the lucrative franchise will be hitting theaters. X-Men: Days of Future Past is a very ambitions project that combines two separate time lines into one film, bringing together a very impressive cast of actors and characters. Fans of the franchise have a big treat in store for them with that film. But there’s even more to look forward to in 2016, as a follow-up to Days of Future Past is already in the works in the form of X-Men: Apocalypse, which will see the biggest of the bad in the X-Men universe come to fruition.

What is in store after that you ask? It was revealed a few weeks ago that James Mangold, the director that brought us The Wolverine, was in talks to helm a sequel to that film. According to a response on to @R_E_D_R_U_M Twitter, Mangold is looking to work on that project after Apocalypse hits theaters in 2016.

I think the bigger question here is whether or not Hugh Jackman will be returning to fill the role. Should he fill the role for The Wolverine 2, he will have been playing the role for nearly twenty years. Jackman has hinted several times that he is nearing the end of his tenure as Wolverine, but as long as the scripts continue to draw him in, he’d consider it. Regardless, he’ll be in his 50′s by that time and one has to wonder if he’ll be wanting to keep maintaining the physique required for the role.

What do you guys think? Is it time for Hugh Jackman to turn in his claws and recast the role? Or would you rather see him fill the role for a few more films?
