James Franco Weighs In On The Amazing Spider-Man

franco bannerYou have to love James Franco. The man is nothing if not honest and candid. The actor gave his review on The Amazing Spider-Man while recently chatting with MTV. Where other actors were supportive and approving of the reboot, Franco took a brutally honest approach.

Franco was asked about Dane DeHaan taking on the mantle of Harry Osborn, which he played for all three Sam Raimi movies, the actor said he was familiar with DeHaan and his work “Good for him. I think I have, the kids with the superpowers and I saw Lawless. Yeah, he’s good. He’s really good.” When asked his thoughts on the reboot, Franco gave his review:

I did. Eh. I mean, they could have strayed a little bit more from the original. Like “why?” I guess they made a lot of money. Congrats. Good for them. Sam and I moved on. We made Oz.

You can check out the video to see if you detect anything in Franco’s tone by clicking here. I agree with Franco’s assessment so I find his answers humorous and refreshing compared to the other original actors previous answers. Franco is of course out doing the rounds for OZ directed by Sam Raimi so this question will probably pop up a few more times. What do you think though? Do you agree or does his style rub you the wrong way?

I'm a comic book and movie nerd who loves to share news I find interesting and hope you do as well. I'm a big Doctor Who fan and sci-fi in general. My favorite comic characters you ask? Well Thor, Wolverine, and Daredevil.
