Jai Courtney Set As Kyle Reese In TERMINATOR: GENESIS
Not long ago, it was revealed that a handful of actors, including Jai Courtney and Boyd Holbrook, were on the final list of actors to fill the role of Kyle Reese in the upcoming reboot of the Terminator franchise. Today, it was announced that Spartacus veteran Jai Courtney has landed the coveted role. Courtney will be joining Jason Clarke of Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, who will be filling the role of John Connor, and Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke, who plays the female lead, Sarah Connor. Alan Taylor, who just came of the huge Marvel hit Thor: The Dark World, will be taking the reins for the film.
Not plot details have been revealed as of yet, but we do know that the Terminator standard of time travel will once again play a large part. We also know that Arnold Schwarznegger will be reprising the role that made him famous. Whether that is through a lot of CG work or him physically playing the role, we don’t know just yet.
Jai Courtney is coming off a string of so-so hits, such as Jack Reacher, A Good Day to Die Hard and I, Frankenstein. He can next be seen in the anticipated adaptation of Divergent, which is set to hit theaters in March. Terminator: Genesis is slated to hit theaters July 1, 2015.
