Jada Pinkett Smith Comments On Joining GOTHAM
Yesterday we got some news that Gotham has added another amazing cast member. Jada Pinkett Smith has joined the show as Fish Mooney, a night club owner and sadistic nightclub owner. She is also the street smart/hot headed boss of a young Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) in the series.
Pinkett Smith took to Facebook to share her excitement for the upcoming series, but also revealed a little bit of a surprise as well. While she is committed to the series, it is only for a year. Check out the full statement below:
To my Facebook family
Last night, I decided to accept the role of Fish Mooney, who is the sadistic villain in the upcoming Batman prequel, Gotham, for Fox TV. I’ve committed to a year to work alongside a very talented cast, a super cool, creative and talented head writer and an extraordinary director. This one…is going to be funnnnnn!
It’s interesting that she only committed to a year of work on the series. A number of things could be attributed to this. Maybe she only wants to do it for a year, or maybe her character arc is only one season. I could see the Penguin being under her rule and in the season finale rising up and over taking her.
