It Really Looks Like Michael B. Jordan Will Be The Fantastic Four’s New Human Torch
Several weeks ago a rumor that Michael B. Jordan would be re-teaming with Chronicle director Josh Trank for Fox‘s Fantastic Four reboot set the internet on fire. It was originally reported by The Wrap that Jordan was the frontrunner and Trank‘s top choice to bring Johnny Storm/The Human Torch to life in the reboot. Jordan has since addressed the rumors and talked about the race change the character would undergo and how it fits with the times. Well today someone has finally gotten the actor in front of a camera to ask him the big question.
Empire caught up with the actor at the Cannes Film Festival and asked him if he would be sporting a big 4 on his chest anytime soon. You can tell the question takes Jordan by surprise. He says that “nothing is in writing, nothing is official” right now, but he goes on to say he would embrace the character and go all in if he got the role. That seems to at least confirm that he has at least had some pretty serious talks about the role. From his tone and the way he plays with the question, it seems like he did everything short of actually confirming that he will be Johnny Storm. With the film slated for an early 2015 release, I’m sure we’ll be hearing a lot more about casting soon. What do you think about his answer? Can you see Jordan as The Human Torch?
