Is Charlie Hunnam Being Eyed for The Flash?

FlWarner Brothers and DC Comics have their hands full right now in trying to get their Justice League film off the ground. Over the past few months, numerous rumors have flooded the internet in regards to how it will all come together, including talk of Christopher Nolan and Christian Bale returning to help integrate Batman into the planned shared universe. However, we now know that to be untrue. We also know that WB do still have plans to create a shared universe and Man of Steel is indeed the gateway film to that new world. You can read more about that in Thorverine’s latest article on Man of Steel by clicking HERE!

So what about the other characters in the Justice LeagueWell, we may have a bit more information in regards to the Flash. CHUD have learned from a “trusted inside source” that Charlie Hunnam’s likeness is being used in concept art for the Flash character for the potential Justice League film.

So what does this mean exactly? We’re not quite sure, but we sure can speculate. The first thing to come to mind is that WB could be in talks with the actor to take on the character for the film. This is probably the least likely of scenarios, mostly because you’d think the studio would want to nail down the larger characters first, such as Batman. Especially since the film is still several years out…2016? 2017? It could also mean that the studio, like Guillermo Del Toro, is high on the Sons of Anarchy star and could be using the concept images to sell the actor on the character. Hunnam is the star of Del Toro’s sci-fi epic Pacific Rim, which releases this summer, and recently signed on to star in Del Toro’s next project, Crimson Peak. It’s also possible that whoever the artist is behind the concept images has a crush on Hunnam.

This isn’t the worst casting I’ve seen, but just seems very preliminary. As a fan of both Del Toro and Hunnam, I’d prefer to see the actor take on a role in Del Toro’s Justice League Dark/Dark Universe project. Or better yet as Green Arrow. What do you kids think? Would Hunnam make a good Flash? Or would you rather see him take on a different role for DC?
