Infographic Displays the History of Superman’s Iconic Shield
Unless you’ve been living under a glowing, green rock you know that the latest take on Superman is set to fly into theaters on June 14th. Zack Snyder is at the helm of this film, with Henry Cavill donning the red and blue suit. The film and characters have definitely been updated to match modern days, but I don’t think that is what most people are concerned about. The last time we saw the character on the big screen in Bryan Singer’s Superman Returns, which left a bad taste in everyone’s mouth. Word on the street is that Man of Steel is a much better take on the iconic super hero, which is a good thing for many reasons, including the potential for a film based on the Justice League. Ill spare you my further ramblings.
While you impatiently wait for Man of Steel, the folks at HalloweenCostumes have put together a fantastic new infographic the shows off the impressive history of Superman’s logo that is so essential to his character. The image breaks it down by comics as well as television and movies. Each of the shields depicted also includes a bit of trivia on its origin. Give it a gander, it’s pretty awesome.
