IDW Announces THE CROW: PESTILENCE By Frank Bill And Drew Moss
Today IDW announced a new Crow miniseries for early 2014. The new Crow story will be written by Frank Bill, a first time comic book scribe from the world of prose novels (Crimes in Southern Indiana and Donnybrook). Drew Moss (IDW’s The Colonized) will tackle art. Crow creator James O’Barr will provide covers for the series as well. The Crow: Pestilence will “transplants the spirit of vengeance to the southwest, introducing a brand-new cast of characters and exploring the grim underbelly of greed and betrayal in the deadly town of Juarez, Mexico.” James O’Barr and IDW Chief Creative Officer/Editor-in-Chief Chris Ryall are both big Bill fans of Bill’s gritty and brutal writing, so the prose author making his comic book debut with The Crow seemed like a safe bet to make. Bill said of the opportunity “I’ve always been a big fan of James O’Barr’s The Crow and his artwork, so when I was offered the opportunity to write my own version, I was blown away. I wanted to place my best foot forward, I knew I had some big shoes to fill.” Drew Moss drew the promo piece you see below. The series is tentatively scheduled for March 2014. What do you think about Bill and Moss tackling a new Crow series?
