Hugh Jackman Drops A Slight Wolverine Spoiler

wolverine bannerHugh Jackman let slip a little info he probably shouldn’t have, but it was something we kind of suspected anyway. The Aussie actor was chatting with Parade about Les Miserables, released Christmas Day, and some other things he is working on. Interviewer Jeanne Wolf asked a pretty ballsy question and got a pretty juicy answer.

Parade didn’t beat around the bush when talking about The Wolverine with Jackman. They came out and asked him to give them “a little scoop on the film.” While most actors would do their little dance and talk up the upcoming film while not really saying anything, Jackman let loose with both barrels:

You want to get me into trouble, don’t you? [laughs] Okay, the movie takes place after X-Men: The Last Stand. My character is at his lowest. He is supposed to be able to heal himself, but he may encounter someone who has worked out a way to really hurt him. And there is a cameo from one of the past X-Men in it.

We have heard rumors for some time that a former X-Men character may pop up in the film, but it hadn’t been confirmed until just then. The mind immediately jumps to Famke Janssen’s Jean Grey. She, and many of the former X-Men originals for that matter, have been pretty coy when asked if they would pop up in other films (especially Days of Future Past). Then a month or so ago, a site reported seeing Janssen in Australia where The Wolverine was shooting. With Jackman’s words and all the internet rumors, it isn’t that far a logical leap to think Janssen may indeed show up. But then again, any of the original X-Men popping up is pretty exciting. Are you hoping for Jean? If not her, who?
