THE HOBBIT: THE DESOLATION OF SMAUG Gets 2 TV Spots
Last week we got the first full trailer for Peter Jackson‘s second entry in The Hobbit series. Now Warner Bros. has released the first two TV spots for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. The two spots, clocking in at a minute a piece, are basically different cuts of the trailer with a few new snippets of footage and lines of dialogue sprinkled throughout. The spots also begin promoting the HFR (High Frame Rate) version of the films. Only a few of the nation’s theaters got the 48 Frames Per Second version of the film, but with the success of that maybe we’ll see it expanded into more venues for the sequel. What do you think about the TV spots? The Desolation of Smaug begins December 13th.
The second in a trilogy of films adapting the enduringly popular masterpiece The Hobbit, by J.R.R. Tolkien, “The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug” continues the adventure of the title character Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) as he journeys with the Wizard Gandalf (Ian McKellen) and thirteen Dwarves, led by Thorin Oakenshield (Richard Armitage) on an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor.
