TUCSON HOBBY SHOP COLLECTS COMICS FOR CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL’S LIBRARY
The comic book and games store voted “Best of Tucson” in 2009, 2010 and 2011 by the readers of The Tucson Weekly joins forces with The Diamond Children’s Medical Center to inspire the next generation of superheroes.
Heroes and Villains tries to live up to the first part of their name this February as they collect donations of new comic books and graphic novels for the Diamond Children’s Medical Center’s library.
Says store owner, Mike Camp: “Heroes and Villains believes in comics’ power to inspire, to make kids (of all ages) feel like maybe there’s a Superman coiled just beneath those horned rim glasses, or a Wonder Woman waiting beneath that tangle of braces and barrettes.
It’s our hope that these comic books (generously donated by our superheroic customers) give kids an extra boost of encouragement during a difficult time in their young lives”

They are also accepting monetary donations, both in-store and over the phone (using a debit or credit card) and starting at $1, which will be used to purchase books at the end of the month.
