Henry Cavill Talks DC References In MAN Of STEEL And What May Or May Not Be On The Way
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you have probably seen Man Of Steel. The film that looks to jump start Warner Brother’s and DC’s shared movie universe was a major success for the studio pulling in south of 800 Million dollar world wide.
Part of the films success was the fun little Easter eggs that were planted trough out the movie. Wayne Enterprises, Lex Corp, and S.T.A.R. Labs were among the references in the movie that were believed just to be nods to characters like Batman, Lex Luthor, and Cyborg respectively. But what if they were meant for something more? We already know that Batman will be in the Man Of Steel, and Lex Luthor is all but a lock for the movie.
That leaves us with Cyborg. Henry Cavill sat down to talk a little bit about the DC references where he touched on not only the Wayne Enterprises and Lex Corp ones, but the S.T.A.R. Lab/Cyborg one too. “What really intrigued me, was Dr. Emile Hamilton’s reference to S.T.A.R. Labs. Cyborg, I think, would make a wonderful character and an incredible bridge between both super humans and humanity in a different way to Batman. I don’t know where he is going to come in, or if he is going to come in, but that is one I am particularly excited about.”
Based on what he is saying there I wouldn’t surprised to see Cyborg pop up in the DC Movie Universe sooner rather than later. Maybe it’s just some wishful thinking on my part, and Cavill is just generally enjoying the references and they have no implication on where the story is going. However, two out of the three references are coming to fruition, who’s to say the third wont either? Check out the video and the entire transcript of Cavill below, and make sure to check back here at Comic Book Therapy for the latest.
There’s one obvious (reference), which now is particularly obvious because of our next installment, which is involving Batman as well. We see Wayne Enterprises on the satellite in space. We also see some references to Lex Crop. I have no actual further knowledge of this next story. So there’s a good chance Lex is going to be introduced soon, or at some stage. What really intrigued me, was Dr. Emile Hamilton’s reference to S.T.A.R. Labs. Cyborg, I think, would make a wonderful character and an incredible bridge between both super humans and humanity in a different way to Batman. I don’t know where he is going to come in, or if he is going to come in, but that is one I am particularly excited about. And other references I’m not too sure about, but we’ll see where those lead. Those with keen eyes will see them.
