The most talked about thing in the DC Universe (at leas on the movie side) is the upcoming Batman Vs. Superman flick that Zack Snyder is planning. It is set up to be a direct sequel to Man Of Steel with Henry Cavill returning as Superman and Ben Affleck joining the fight as Batman, but is shaping up to include quite a bit of characters from Batman’s world including Nightwing.

But what about DC’s other properties? Are they really just going ride out the Batman and Superman tag team for as long as they can? According to Guillermo del Toro that answer is no. While speaking to Cinefilos the director talked about his Justice League Dark movie he is hoping to do and revealed that there is nothing new to the project. However he did say, “We’re still at Warner Bros., they are making plans for the entire DC universe. All the all the mythologies, and part of that is Justice League Dark. They’re planning on TV, movies, and all the media, so we have to fit into that plan.” So that means that Warner Brothers is looking to expand even further than their two most famous faces and dig deeper into their library for continued successes, they hope, for years to come.

While this isn’t really a shock, it’s a bit of a relief to hear. For too long fans have been under the notion that DC/WB was content with sitting on their hands in regards to getting something even remotely close to what Marvel had with The Avengers. Based on what del Toro is saying, it looks as if the wait could be over soon, and we can expect some big things in the coming years.
