Guillermo Del Toro Gives An Update On His Dark DC Team-Up Movie

justice league darkIt was announced that Guillermo Del Toro is attached to a DC film a few months ago that sounded like it was essentially a spin off on a Justice League Dark team. When the story first hit the title of the film was Heaven Sent. Speaking with IGN, the director updated us on the status of that project and revealed the new working title is Dark Universe. Del Toro, who recently admitted to turning down Star Wars VII, says that writing is well underway. He has completed an outline and has the “perfect” writer on board who is “very, very good.”

Besides the announcement that a yet-to-be-revealed writer is on board, Del Toro said the team’s line-up will feature Swamp Thing, Etrigan the Demon, Constantine, The Spectre, Deadman, and Zatana Zatara as well as a few other characters who he didn’t want to disclose. The fan favorite director said that saying who else would be on the team would make guessing the plot easier. You can check out the interview below where Del Toro talks about WB’s move to make a more cohesive movie universe.
