The GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Will Have To Save The Universe Without Stan Lee
Stan Lee has appeared in almost every Marvel film, and every Marvel Studios film to date, but the legendary comic book creator won’t be popping up in Jame Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy. Stan “The Man” Lee revealed the sad news in a recent interview with Dweebcast.
Stan Lee appeared on Dweebcast to talk about his new animated show, his sweater collection, and his impressive resume as a professional movie cameo artist. Lee said he didn’t really know anything at all about Guardians of the Galaxy, and since he didn’t create them, he won’t be appearing in the film. Said the living legend (via GuardTheGalaxy.Com):
No, I’m afraid not. That’s the one group I didn’t create. I didn’t create Guardians of the Galaxy. I’m not even sure who they all are. I can’t wait to see the movie.
Lee seems to have forgotten that he created Groot, though the Groot that stars in the Guardians of the Galaxy comics is different from the one originally seen in Tales to Astonish #13 from Lee and Jack Kirby. It’s really just splitting hairs, but it’s a strong enough connection to warrant a cameo. Lee has appeared in every Marvel Studios movie, so it will be odd to not see him pop up in some form or fashion. What do you think about Stan Lee’s comments? Do you hope something gives and he ends up shooting a quick bit for Guardians before it’s released?
