Glenn Close Will Lead The Nova Corps In Guardians Of The Galaxy
It’s been a while since we heard some Guardians of the Galaxy casting news, but we heard a lot of rumors and possible details for the James Gunn film last week. It was said that John C. Reilly was offered the role of Rhomann Dey, one of the higher ups in the Nova Corps. It’s supposed to be a big role and will be the Guardians of the Galaxy‘s equivalent to Agent Coulson. Reilly was also said to have a colleague and Marvel was looking at the likes of Hugh Laurie, Alan Rickman, and Ken Watanabe for the part. Well it turns out they went with someone different. Marvel is close to landing Glenn Close.
According to Deadline, the film is close to signing Glenn Close to a “major role” in the James Gunn film. If everything works out, Close will play a leadership role in the Nova Corp. The film starts production in a month, so we’ll probably hear something official soon. Deadline also stated John C. Reilly was a member of the cast pretty matter-of-factly, so he’s probably signed on or is finishing up his deal. If you’re well versed in Nova lore, you know that the head of the Corps is called Nova Prime. While Close may have that title, some details of the character and the Corps may change. So you can probably add Close and Reilly as major hitters alongside Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Batista, Lee Pace, and Michael Rooker. What do you think about Close taking on the Corps?
