The stars have truly alined for this story. You have George Romero, the Stan Lee of zombies, announcing he is writing a zombie comic for Marvel in the month of October. The legendary filmmaker talked to Twitchfilm earlier this week about what he is up to nowadays both in the film and writing spheres. In a candid chat with the site, Romero announced a secret project.
ROMERO – I am also writing a comic for Marvel. I’m writing it now, but it’s plot is a secret.
TWITCH – Awww c’mon George, just a little nibble? A tid bit?
ROMERO – Well I can tell you it won’t involve any of their on-going characters, there will be no superheroes. But it will involve zombies!
If you want to check out what else Romero is up to, you can read the full interview with Twtichfim by clicking here. A zombie book for Marvel without superheros? That rules out a Romero penned addition to the Marvel Zombies universe. If memory serves, Romero tried to do a zombie comic years ago with DC. With the master of zombies writing a comic for Marvel it will surely be one to keep an eye on if you’re a fan. What do you think about the idea? Do you think Romero could translate his zombie mastery to the comic page?
