Geoff Johns Confirms He’s Leaving Justice League Of America

JLAGeoff Johns took to Twitter to confirm he is handing over the reins of Justice League of America to a new writer after issue #8. Johns stated that Matt Kindt would be taking over the series full-time. Kindt, the New York Times bestselling writer/artist of Mind MGMT, previously joined up with Johns to write the Martian Manhunter backup stories in several issue of JLA. Kindt will take over with issue #9 in November. The writer was mentioned in DC‘s November solicitations for the book, but since the issue will be a Forever Evil tie-in many weren’t sure if it was only for a single issue or not since Johns will be busy with the main Forever Evil story.

This leaves Johns wide open for other comics. He recently ended his prolific Green Lantern run, and rumors have been circulating for a while that the writer would leave Aquaman as well. Rumors, or maybe just fan hope, have suggested that Johns might kick off a new Booster Gold series or even a Shazam ongoing. We’ll have to wait and see what the writer does next, but I’m sure it will be worth it. What do you think about the official announcement of Matt Kindt taking over JLA?
