Gatefold Cover For Superboy #19 Reveals A New Origin Shocker
DC dropped the WTF Certified seal of approval on their gatefold covers, but that doesn’t mean a few of them still won’t make you think or say what they were intended to do. The cover that probably still deserves that label is the newly released cover for Superboy #19. The issue will see Superboy‘s secret origins revealed. Instead of being the clone comprised of Superman and Lex Luthor‘s DNA, it looks like the New 52 version is the clone baby of Superman with the human DNA of…Lois Lane!
Lois and Clark/Superman may not be a couple in the 52 universe, but this new revelation may just have to two tied together closer than ever before. Another interesting thing to note is that the issue was solicited as being written by Tom DeFalco with art from R.B. Silva and Rob Lean. As you can see in the picture, writer Scott Lobdell, R.B. Silva, and Diogenes Neves are credited. No word on if the solicit was wrong of the team got shuffled around. Back to the larger point- somebody call Maury Povich and get him on the paternity case! Do you think this is the new origin or just a giant misdirect?
