Fox Chief Tom Rothman Talks: First Class, Chronicle, Fantastic Four And Daredevil
By Cody "The Thorverine" Ferrell on Apr 27, 2012 with Comments 0

Tom Rothman is out and about talking about what Fox is working on. Yesterday, we brought you the story about a New Mutants movie and today we have some words about the First Class sequel, the Fantastic Four reboot, a Chronicle follow up, and a brief comment on the Daredevil reboot.
Rothman talked with MTV about First Class and F4. You can watch the video below, but he states that the First Class sequel will start shooting this coming January for a Christmas 2013 or Summer 2014 release. Matthew Vaughn, Simon Kinberg, and Jane Goldman are working on the script now. I’m sure we’ll be hearing more about that soon.
It was rumored that Chronicle writer and director Josh Trank would be working on a Fantastic Four reboot and probably directing, Rothman confirmed that Trank is developing the script, but directing is still up in the air. He told Collider:
Josh Trank who did Chronicle, I think this has been reported, is gonna come on and work on a take, or a vision, that he has for it, so we’re very excited about that. I think there’s a possibility of [him directing]. I mean he’s gonna develop it now, and then it depends on the script.
About Trank’s smash-hit Chronicle Rothman said “[Chronicle 2] is in very active development. I think you’ll see that sooner rather than later.” And as you can see in MTV’s video where he talked a little more, they are very excited about that and are actively working on it.
And finally the brief word on Daredevil: “It’s in development; we’re working on the script.” There have been rumors that the script is going through some trouble, but Rothman assures us it is being worked on and developed. I’m sure we’ll hear more on that as well.
