Fox Announces X-MEN: APOCALYPSE For 2016
Not to be outdone by Sony‘s Spider-Man trailer, director Bryan Singer and 20th Century Fox announced a brand new X-Men movie for 2016. X-Men: Days of Future Past won’t even hit theaters until next year, but another outing for the team of mutants has already been slated. If that wasn’t enough, Singer revealed that it will be entitled Apocalypse. The villain has been rumored for Days of Future Past, though nobody will say if he is one way or the other, but he will definitely be showing up now. I don’t think that’s a misdirection. You don’t announce X-Men: Apocalypse and then not use the biggest and baddest villain the X-Men have.
This also seems to give away the end of Days of Future Past. All the time traveling and trying to stop a post-apocalyptic future seems to be in vain. We can probably expect a less than happy ending. The Wolverine had a scene connecting to the upcoming film, so I’d imagine we will get an Apocalypse hint in Days of Future Past. Other than Singer and Exhibitor Relations‘ Tweets, no other details have been released. The story is evolving as we speak so stay tuned for updates. What do you think about the new movie announcement?
