UPDATE: First Picture Of Matt Ryan As CONSTANTINE Has Surfaced
It was just recently announced that Matt Ryan (Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag) would be playing John Constantine in the upcoming NBC series based on the fan-favorite chain-smoking detective of the supernatural, but we’re already getting our first glance of the actor in character. Some fans were slightly concerned that the naturally brown-haired Ryan might not dye his hair to match Constantine‘s blonde lock from the comics. Well filming has begun on the pilot and we’ve gotten our first look at our Constantine, and it should please most everyone.
The first-day-of-shooting pic gives us a clear look at the new Constantine (and a peek of David Goyer as well). Rarely are characters in comic book TV shows and movies perfect representations of the source material, but Ryan is pretty darn close. You can see him with his blonde hair, skinny tie, and trademark trench coat below (they’re still negotiating whether or not he can smoke on TV). Now that filming is underway, we’ll probably be seeing a lot more of Ryan and his co-stars in the coming weeks. What do you think about the actor’s look?
Update: Due to them releasing the production image, it would seem as if NBC has decided to release the first offical image of Ryan as Constantine today! Check out the image below thanks to Deadline.
