First Official Look At Michael Rooker As Yondu (Kind Of) In GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY
In the various teasers and trailers that we’ve seen for James Gunn’s anticipated Guardians of the Galaxy, we’ve gotten great looks at the five main characters in the film, and a few other characters, such as the lethal Nebula, played by Karen Gillan and the big baddie of the film Ronan The Accuser, played by Lee Pace. However, there’s been a character that we’ve yet to see, aside from a couple on-set pics, and that is Yondu, played by Michael Rooker. The character is said to be the man who rescues our hero Star-Lord ad serves as a father figure of sorts.
This afternoon, James Gunn took to Facebook to reveal our first official pic of the character, but there’s a catch: we only get an outline of the character. However, Gunn does give a bit of history on the character and how his inclusion in the film came to be. Check out the pic below, as well as Gunn’s quote.
Guardians of the Galaxy hits theaters August 1st, and stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Lee Pace, Karen Gillan, Glenn Close, Josh Brolin, Michael Rooker and John C. Reilly.
