EW’s New Issue Seems To Confirm Scarlet Witch And Quicksilver For Avengers 2
It was just last week that Marvel Godfather Joss Whedon hinted that a brother/sister act would be in The Avengers 2. Everyone immediately guessed he was talking about Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver, better known as Wanda and Pietro Maximoff or Magneto‘s children. The duo can be used by both 20th Century Fox and Marvel Studios as long as a few guidelines are met. You can read our brief rundown for those guideline in our original article about the story here. Today it seems the duo are confirmed for an Avengers appearance.
EW revealed the cover to their newest issue featuring Tony Stark and Pepper Potts. The issue will take a look at Marvel‘s movie plans, but tucked in the article with a few quotes about Iron Man 3 came the confirmation of the Maximoff children. EW reports:
Some online rumors turn out to be true, however. A source confirms to EW that the twin characters Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch will be joining The Avengers 2, which Whedon hinted at recently when he said he was writing a brother-sister duo into the movie. Feige maintains a poker face on that scoop, saying only: “I’m not confirming or denying. The draft could change six months from now.”
Feige is correct though. The script could change multiple times before we see it on the big screen. At one point Whedon had the Wasp appearing in the first film. If they’ve chosen to use the two characters they have partial rights to, I’d say its a safe bet that they will do what they can with them. What do you think? Do you want the new additions to to the team to be Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver?
