Drew Goddard To Pen DAREDEVIL Series
Marvel dropped some big news a few days back when it announced that several news series were in the works and that they, along with their parent company Disney, would be teaming with Netflix to air those new projects. The story tells us that four characters would get their own solo projects, leading up to a Defenders mini-series. Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist are three of those characters, the fourth, and first up to bat, is none other than the ‘Man Without Fear’ Daredevil.
According to The Wrap, long-time Joss Whedon collaborator Drew Goddard will be taking on the writing duties for the Dardevil series. Goddard blew people away with his quirky take on the horror genre in Cabin in the Woods, which starred Chris Hemsworth. Goddard has also done some work on the hit TV series LOST, as well as the popular Whedon series Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel.
Goddard happens to be a huge fan of the character, and has been quoted as saying he had Daredevil quotes painted on his wall as a child and has been wanting to work with the character for some time now. It’s a good sign that Marvel have brought in such a big fan to pen the script, as he knows the character and the mythos surrounding him. His ties with Whedon don’t hurt either, so hopefully the pair can find a way to incorporate Daredevil into the cinematic universe sooner rather than later.
