Dinobots Officially Confirmed For Transformers 4: Possible Titles Emerge

dinobotWe pretty well knew that the Dinobots would be involved in Michael Bay‘s 4th Transformers film. There were enough clues sprinkled around the web to prove the transforming dinos would indeed be appearing alongside Optimus and his crew. Now that bit of news has been officially confirmed in a recent interview with the film’s producer.

t4Lorenzo di Bonaventura chatted with the Beijing News (via TFW2005) about the film and the new characters that will be kicking off the next trilogy. All of the evidence piling up over the last few weeks have forced the producer’s hand. It may sound a little off, but it has been translated from the Chinese source:

I can not disclose the specifics, but you can be sure that the joining of the Dinobots will give the audience new excitement. In addition to Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, the appearance of these classic roles changed, today the world’s coolest, most exciting cars will appear in the film, including China’s vehicles, whether you are a car enthusiast, you will feast your eyes and be shocked by them.

Bonaventura also confirmed that the movie will film in Beijing and Hong Kong. They are scouting two more cities to film in, but they haven’t settled on a location just yet. The producer also stated that there would be no Chinese version of Transformers 4. Iron Man 3 added about 5 whole whopping minutes of footage for a special Chinese release, but Transformers won’t be following suit. I would say it is because the “Chinese cut” of Iron Man 3 was horribly received in the country. The footage amounted to one new scene and a commercial. Seems Michael Bay learned a valuable lesson at Iron Man‘s expense.

On the other side of things, some possible titles for the movie have emerged. With the sequel getting names like Dark of the Moon and Revenge of the Fallen, it’s a safe bet that Bay won’t go with something as simple as Transformers 4. SuperHeroHype is reporting that a few titles have emerged from the same brand protection agency that registered Dark of the Moon back in 2010. The company has secured domain names like Transformers: The Last Stand, Transformers: Apocalypse, and Transformers: Future Cast. While those may not be the final name, it gives us an idea of what Bay and company may be going for. Do you like any of those names or would you rather it be something else? Are you glad the Dinobots are officially confirmed?
