A lot of people’s childhood’s will be revisiting them shortly thanks to IDW. The comics publisher announced at the the ComicsPRO Annual Membership Meeting this week in Atlanta, Georgia that they would be making a new comics line based on older Cartoon Network shows.
According to Nerdage, via Bleeding Cool, IDW and Cartoon Network’s partnership will result in Powerpuff Girls, Johnny Bravo, Dexter’s Laboratory, Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends, Samurai Jack, Ben 10 and many, many more comics. The first one out of the gate is reportedly the Powerpuff Girls which will be based on the new TV show.
This will be another addition to IDW’s all-ages comics. They’ve had a surprising amount of success with My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. The comic became one of the best-selling comics in the company’s history and beat out all other companies in sales when it was released. This is great news for 90s kids. All of the big Cartoon Network shows seem to be accounted for and more are sure to come. Samurai Jack is especially welcomed since everything is still stalled on the movie front. Stay tuned to CBT for more info on this when it becomes available. What do you think? Will you be revisiting some of these characters?
