Despite CONSTANTINE TV Show Guillermo del Toro Says JUSTICE LEAGUE DARK Is Still Happening
When Warner Brothers announced the Constantine TV show, a lot of people thought that Justice League Dark, an attempt by Guillermo del Toro to bring Constantine, Swamp Thing, The Spectre, and others to the big screen, was dead. However, there was still a glimmer of hope as WB is also planning a Flash TV show as well as a Flash movie too.
Del Toro is one of those still holding out hope as well. The famed director sat down with IGN to talk about how the new Constantine TV show would effect his Justice League Dark movie. “We talked about it at DC and Warners, and I feel confident that the two properties can exist at the same time,” he said. “I think that DC is trying to create a great universe of characters, and expand it and make it clear to the audience that it’s a landscape of characters, and not just one that’s dependent on one or two characters.” He furthered the hope by saying while there isn’t a full script yet, they are currently writing one, and that the project is “still active.”
While this does bring a sigh of relief to fans, it’s probably best not to get your hopes up. Del Toro is pretty famous for getting involved in projects, and then bowing out because he doesn’t have the time, or just dropping the ideas all together. However, it is encouraging to hear that he and his mystery writer, that he has been touting for quite some time now, are still working on the film.
