As DC’s Film Plans Take Shape The Reason For BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE’S Delay Becomes Clear
It’s what all DC, nay comic book movie fans have been waiting for. When will we see or hear more about Warner Brother’s plans for the comic giants characters? It’s no secret Marvel has been kicking DC’s tail in the realm of movies, and word on the street is WB has been crafting a well laid out plan to combat the Marvel Juggernaut.
Former Deadline founder Nikkie Finke launched her new site after her non-compete with Penske Media Group ran out, and she kicked things off with a bang by announcing WB/DC’s movie plans. From what she is hearing from her sources, WB will look to make the formal announcement at this years San Diego Comic Con. She did warn that the line up is still in a little bit of flux, so it’s not set in stone. The line up is as follows:
Not only are we getting the ultimate team-up in a Justice League movie, but it looks as if Warner Brothers will take characters and team them up in smaller outings. This is evident with Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice currently filming and The Flash/Green Lantern team up film happening. One thing to take away from Finke’s report is that Green Lantern will NOT be Ryan Reynolds.
She also dropped some tidbits as to why Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was delayed. According to her sources, it’s so that they had time to nail down some more cameos for the film. We already know that Ray Fisher will be playing Victor Stone AKA Cyborg in the film, but she also confirmed the long running rumor that The Flash would appear too. Green Lantern is another possibility, while Aquaman will be introduced in Justice League. As of right now Warner Brothers is still negotiating with actors on their cameo appearances and subsequent film appearances.
So it looks as if Warner Brothers will have quite the presence at Comic Con this year. Like stated above the current film line-up in said not to be set in stone, so some changes might happen. With Shazam being confirmed, it looks as if we MIGHT know where The Rock fits into all of this. However, we will just have to wait and see.
