David Morrissey’s The Governor Returning as Series Regular on Walking Dead
Season three of one of television’s most intense series came to a close tonight. Don’t worry, you won’t find any spoilers here! One thing we do know is that The Governor, who made his first appearance during this season, has had quite the story arc, going from what seemed to be a gentle, caring man who only wanted the best for the people of Woodbury. As the series continued on, however, the Governor, played impeccably well by David Morrissey, transitioned into the famed mad man that fans of the comics know all too well.
Good news tonight in regards to this character, as it’s being reported that David Morrissey will return as the Governor as a series regular. When this casting was first announced in February of 2012, it was stated that the character “appear in The Walking Dead season three.” I won’t go into any details about the character from the comics, but let’s just say there was a reason that the character was only planned for one season.
The cast and crew are already gearing up to head into season four, but we have many unanswered questions after the finale that aired tonight, but with this news, we know that The Governor will certainly be back. What do you guys think of this news? For those that have read the comics, do you like how the character was handled, especially after watching tonight’s final episode?
