David Goyer Shares A New Man Of Steel Easter Egg And Talks About Possibly Writing The Justice League Movie

justice league bannerMan of Steel hits theaters in a few days, but we already know a sequel is in the works. Yesterday we heard that WB were fast-tracking a sequel and that it looked like director Zack Snyder and screenwriter David Goyer would be coming back for more. It was also revealed that David Goyer‘s deal included him writing the Justice League film. With Goyer setting up Superman and possibly bringing him together with other heroes, many moviegoers will have their eyes peeled for Easter Eggs that tie Man of Steel into a larger connected DC movie universe. Goyer recently spoke to MTV about one such tip of the hat. SLIGHT SPOILER WARNING: If you don’t want to know about two of the hidden Easter Eggs, you might want to proceed with caution.

MTV caught up with the writer at the New York premiere o the movie. When asked about other Easter Eggs besides the Wayne Enterprises logo on a satellite and the Lex Corp building we spotted in the trailer, Goyer pointed out one that could be pretty big:

We mentioned S.T.A.R. Labs at one point. That’s kind of a connection to Cyborg and stuff like that.

Goyer also went on to confirm yet again that Chris Nolan‘s Batman DOES NOT exist in Snyder‘s Man of Steel world. Goyer co-wrote those films, but he said they don’t connect into the larger DC Universe this film is trying to lay out. He also shoots down those dumb rumors that a cameo from Joseph Gordon Levitt was discussed and would set up a World’s Finest movie. Goyer on Nolan‘s movies not connecting:

The ‘Dark Knight’ films do not exist in the same universe. Zack [Snyder] has gone on record. The fact that we have Wayne Industries on the satellite, Bruce Wayne exists in this universe. Lex Luthor exists in this universe. Other metahumans do exist in this universe, so the hope is, depending on how the film does, that we’ll be able to roll into some other films.

The movie scribe played coy when asked if he would write the Justice League script. He only revealed that if it were offered to him, he wouldn’t say no. You can watch the full interview clip below to hear a little more from Goyer about the treats in store for DC fans spinning out of Man of Steel. What do you think about Goyer‘s Easter Egg reveal? We get a tip of the hat to Batman and Cyborg, so Is he setting up his Justice League movie?
