Dark Horse Releases A Trailer For George Lucas’ The Star Wars Miniseries
Star Wars fans were pretty happy to hear that Dark Horse would be publishing a miniseries based on George Lucas’ original rough draft of the 1977 cult classic franchise. The series, which has Lucas’ blessing, will be written by J.W. Rinzler with art by Mike Mayhew. The filmmaker’s original pitch was called The Star Wars and featured a lot of things that were vastly different than what we saw on the big screen. The Star Wars featured characters like Jedi Annikin Starkiller, General Luke Skywalker, and a big alien Han Solo. The weapon of choice was called the lazer sword. USA Today premiered the trailer for the miniseries along with a letter preview of the first issue. You can see the trailer above to compare how much things changed during Lucas’ subsequent drafts. The series is scheduled for 8 issues and will kick off September 4th.
