Danny Rand Gets His Own Series With IRON FIST: THE LIVING WEAPON This April
Danny Rand has been a supporting character in many comics the past several years, but it has been a while since the Iron Fist starred in his own solo title. That will change this April when Iron Fist: The Living Weapon becomes the latest entry in the Marvel NOW! slate of new series. Kaare Kyle Andrews will be writing, penciling, inking, coloring, and doing covers for the series himself. Andrews described the series to Hero Complex as “a bloody revenge-fueled martial arts epic.” Andrews will be taking Danny back to his roots and the place where he trained to become a hero. What leads him back is largely the rut he’s found himself in. The writer says when we find Danny “as kind of Bruce Wayne without a plan,” Andrews said. “He’s despondent. He is not connecting with life, and he doesn’t know why.“
Obviously this new series is made possible in part thanks to the upcoming Netflix series. The writer says he’s very much looking forward to seeing Danny Rand on the small screen, but he’s telling the feature length version of his adventures. Andrews says what he plans on doing couldn’t be done on a TV budget, maybe not even a movie budget. You can read more from the author at the source link below. What do you think about Iron Fist getting a new solo series? What do you think about Andrews handling everything by himself?
