Dane DeHaan Comments On Harry Osborn Casting Rumors

We know that Harry Osborn is in The Amazing Spider-Man sequel and that a slew of actors are being considered for the role. The actor that is arguably the fan favorite to take on the role for Marc Webb’s interpretation of the Spider-Man universe is Chronicle star Dane DeHaan.
DeHaan’s chances hinge on how Harry will be portrayed this time around. It’s yet to be determined if they will go the dark and gritty route or the handsome jock route. While we’ll have to wait and see, Crave Online chatted with DeHaan about the DVD release of Lawless. They got a few words from the actor on the Spider-M
an casting rumors though. When asked if there was any talks right now and just how far along they might be:
You know, I would love to be in Spider-Man. I have a lot of respect for Andrew Garfield as a person and an artist and a lot of respect for Marc Webb as a person and an artist. If that opportunity were to come along, I would be really flattered and humbled to be a part of it. But that’s about it for now I guess.
The actor was spotted around Marc Webb’s house recently as well as several of the other Harry Osborn contenders. DeHaan was asked if he had auditioned for the role:
Well, I know there’s a lot of names being tossed around and rumors and stuff, but again, it’s a project I would love to do and if the opportunity would come along and the offer would come along, I would love to do it. Until then, I don’t think it’s worth speculating or creating rumors.
That’s a very diplomatic answer and actually sounds genuine. DeHaan may be hedging his bets by not saying too much, but hopefully he has been talking to someone about the role. Do you think he’d make a good Osborn in Webb’s Spider universe? Who would you like to see play the Harry or even Norman?
