Dan Abnett To Write An INFINITE CRISIS Tie-In Comic For DC
When Injustice: Gods Among Us was getting ready to hit consoles, DC launched a digital first series based on the world where Superman is driven crazy by the Joker, loses his moral compass, and ends up establishing a new world overseen entirely by himself. The comic did astoundingly well, so DC are going to try it again with their Infinite Crisis game that begins open beta on March 14th. It was announced today that Warner Bros. and DC will put out a digital first series and a line of action figures to promote the online series.
The Infinite Crisis comic will show readers the events leading up to the start of the new game. According to IGN, “It will start with Batman solving a crime, as he often does, but when he encounters a Catwoman from another universe, he gets swept into a quest with her and a character named Harbinger to find artifacts from across the multiverse that will put a stop to the Infinite Crisis.“
The series will be written by Dan Abnett and feature art from various artists who specialize in the different styles and worlds each issue will explore. For example, Batman will visit places like a post-nuclear war earth, an arcane universe, and a steampunk world. Abnett is known for his legendary Guardians of the Galaxy run, so it’s easy to see why DC would want him to tackle this rather fantastical sounding tale. The series will launch in May with printed collections of the stories beginning to see release in July. You can check out the cover and a character sketch for Harbinger and Atomic Two-Face below. Will you be checking this series out this May?
