Cyborg Superman Will Soon Make His New 52 Debut
DC started a new section of their blog last week called “What’s New In The New 52” where DC EIC Bob Harras teases some things that are coming up in the 52 Universe. Today’s teaser features Kenneth Rocafort‘s sketch for Cyborg Superman. Yes, it appears the Cyborg from the follow-up series to Death of Superman (which nearly destroyed comics and dented the Man of Steel) will be making his New 52 appearance. The last time we saw the Cyborg that used to be Hank Henshaw before the reboot, he was the Manhunters’ Grandmaster in Geoff Johns‘ Green Lantern run. He even joined up with the Sinestro Corps and was a huge part of the 2011 crossover Reign of Doomsday. Hank has made a 52 appearance, as CBR points out. He is a colleague of Caitlin Fairchild. Here’s what DC‘s blog had to say:
Some of you might remember the last time a Cyborg Superman showed up. Would we dare revisit such a classic storyline? Hmmm. Well, never say never, right? As I’ve been telling you, all bets are off. Everything’s on the table.
Sorry to make your head explode on a Friday, but enjoy Kenneth Rocafort’s lovely sketch in the meantime. We’ll be in the conference room discussing … oh, never mind.
There are no other details right now. It would seem the appearance will come pretty soon. There are a lot of Superman books out there, but the good money is on the character popping up in the main Superman title since Rocafort was involved with the redesign. What do you think about Cyborg Superman popping back up?
