CW Passes On Amazon For Now

The future of the Wonder Woman origin series for the CW is unsure. The network just finished their pilot orders for the upcoming season with Amazon nowhere in sight. The CW picked up 8 shows including a Vampire Diaries spinoff according to Deadline.
The site has learned that the Wonder Woman series has been passed on by the network until at least next season. The CW may order an “off-cycle pilot” so that Amazon can go into production sooner if they are really impressed by the final script. The project has been in development for a while with early casting starting last November. Warner Bros TV started looking for their Diana based off a script by Allan Heinberg. Word on the web is the network bigwigs felt the show needed more time to develop.
Another DC series has been a big goal for the CW with the recent success of Arrow. That series, much like the proposed Amazon, are received with mixed reactions from the fan community. So it seems Amazon has been pushed back for now. What do you think? Do you hope they work out the kinks or would you rather see this one die an early death?
