UPDATE: Cover Art For BATMAN: ARKHAM KNIGHT Reveals New Playable Character And Confirms Rocksteady As Developer
Yesterday the internet was set a fire when the rumor popped up that DC would be announcing the next Batman Arkham game on their DC All Access show. The title is said to be Batman: Arkham Knight, and there are even rumors that Rocksteady will be coming back on board as the developer of the game after Origins was handled in house by WB Montreal.
Well hold on to you hats kiddies, because someone has sent me the cover art to the game, pictured to the right, and it reveals some details that fans have been wondering. First off I was able to confirm the cover art because the game is available for Pre-order on some sites. Secondly if you look at the cover art it does indeed confirm that Rocksteady is back as developer of the game.
The third and most interesting part of the cover you have to zoom in really close. As you can see there is a picture of Harley Quinn on the cover. Right below that it says, “Pre-Order now to play as Harley Quinn.” In the past there has been Robin, Nightwing and even The Joker as a playable character.
I’m sure with the offical announcement today more information will be made available, such as the teaser yesterday that foreshadowed Hush being the main villain. As of right now there is no release date for the game, but that might be made available today as well. Whatever the case, make sure to keep checking Comic Book Therapy and we’ll keep you up to date on Batman: Arkham Knight.
UPDATE:Thanks to Game.co.UK, who I confirmed the covers with the following details have been leaked about the game:
- Be a part of explosive Finale in the Batman: Arkham series in Batman: Arkham Knight.
- Take to the rooftops and now – the roads of Gotham as for the first time the iconic Batmobile becomes drivable
- Face some of Batman’ most notorious foes as the Scarecrow returns to unite Gotham most feared villains.
So there you have it! Scarecrow returns, you get to drive the Batmobile and it’s the last game in the series.
UPDATE #2:Tanks to Stark Industries we have some new promo images from the game featuring Batman and the Batmobile. And thanks to Bleeding Cool we have the offical synopsis for the game that shows Scarecrow as the main villain. Check them all out below.
In the explosive finale to the Arkham series, Batman faces the ultimate threat against the city he is sworn to protect. The Scarecrow returns to unite an impressive roster of super villains, including Penguin, Two-Face and Harley Quinn, to destroy The Dark Knight forever.
Batman: Arkham Knight introduces Rocksteady’s uniquely designed version of the Batmobile, which is drivable for the first time in the franchise. The addition of this legendary vehicle, combined with the acclaimed gameplay of the Batman Arkham series, offers gamers the ultimate and complete Batman experience as they tear through the streets and soar across the skyline of the entirety of Gotham City.
