Chris Evans On Captain America: The Winter Soldier And What He Knows About Avengers: Age Of Ultron
Marvel didn’t have any big surprises to reveal at the D23 Expo today. They showed off new clips for Thor: The Dark World and Captain America: The Winter Soldier, but that was about it. The cast and crew of Thor and Cap did take part in some press for their films after the panels wrapped to reveal some new info though. The interviews are starting to hit the web, and the first one out of the gate is a surprisingly enthusiastic Chris Evans talking about the sequel and revealing what he knows about Avengers: Age of Ultron.
The folks over at Collider got to speak with Evans after the presentation. The actor is usually more subdued and almost apathetic when it comes to talking about the Marvel films, but this time he was very pumped to tease what’s in store for the Russo Brothers directed sequel. If you’ve watched Evans‘ interviews before, you’ll be surprised by how animated he is this time. He talks about Hayley Atwell‘s return as an aged Peggy Carter, teaming up with Black Widow, and what he’s most excited for fans to see. Toward the end of the discussion he comments on Tom Hiddleston‘s Comic-Con performance and what Whedon has told him about Avengers: Age of Ultron. He thinks filming for the sequel starts up in March 2014.
A new synopsis for the film hit earlier today as well. It adds a few plot details to what we’ve already heard about the highly anticipated sequel:
After the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers, Marvel’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” finds Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, living quietly in Washington, D.C. and trying to adjust to the modern world. But when a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague comes under attack, Steve becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue that threatens to put the world at risk. Joining forces with the Black Widow, Captain America struggles to expose the ever-widening conspiracy while fighting off professional assassins sent to silence him at every turn. When the full scope of the villainous plot is revealed, Captain America and the Black Widow enlist the help of a new ally, the Falcon. However, they soon find themselves up against an unexpected and formidable enemy—the Winter Soldier.
