Chris Cooper Joins The Amazing Spider-Man 2 As Norman Osborn

norman Dane DeHaan will be meeting his father soon. Well, his character Harry Osborn will. After a lot of speculation about who will be playing Norman, it was announced today that the Spider-Man sequel has found its new Norman Osborn in Chris Cooper. The Hollywood Reporter found out that Cooper has just signed on for The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

While Cooper will be playing Norman, there’s no word as of now if he’ll be making the transition to the Green Goblin this time. Good money is on Norman suiting up in the third film, but it may well be hinted at and set up in the sequel. Cooper will be stepping into Willem Dafoe‘s shoes, who played Norman/Green Goblin in the original trilogy. Cooper will be another big name joining Marc Webb’s sequel. Filming has already begun and we’ll see Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Shailene Woodley, Jamie Foxx, Paul Giamatti, and all the rest when Spider-Man swings into theaters May 2, 2014.
