Check Out MARVEL’s 100th Anniversary Interlocking Cover By Alex Lozano
This is Marvel‘s 75th anniversary year, but the publisher surprised readers when they announced they would be skipping ahead and celebrating their 100th anniversary instead. The publisher decided they would jump twenty-five years into the future and see what their comics might look like with several 100th Anniversary Specials. Since Marvel really kicked off in 1961 with Fantastic Four #1, the special issues will be theorizing on what may or may not happen in 2061. The Fantastic Four, Spider-Man, X-Men, Avengers, and Guardians of the Galaxy will take part in the festivities which Marvel offered up a preview of with the release of an interlocking cover by artist Alex Lozano. You can see the image below (click it to expand), but if you want to see a gigantic version you can click here. The cover offers up a few interesting hints at what’s in store. You can see Star-Lady (seems Star-Lord is no longer in the picture), Beta Ray Bill as an Avenger, and even Wolverine (who is supposed to die later this year). What do you think of Lozano‘s cover?
