Celebrate BATMAN Day With A Look At The Evolution Of The Bat Symbol
Holy comic book holiday, Batman! Today is Batman day. This is the Dark Knight‘s 75th year of striking fear into the criminal element of Gotham, and to celebrate our friends at Halloween Costumes have put together an infographic looking at the evolution of the Bat symbol from the Caped Crusader‘s first appearance in Detective Comics #27 all the way to the 2000s. And if that wasn’t enough, you can also see how the symbol has changed on the big screen from the 1940s serials starring Lewis Wilson to Ben Affleck‘s highly-anticipated portrayal of the DC juggernaut in the upcoming Man of Steel kind-of sequel, Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. Batman has always been a consistent symbol of heroism, but the actual symbol on his chest has changed quite a bit. What do you think? Which is your favorite?
