Neglected Nemeses: Apocalypse

Neglected Nemeses: Apocalypse

It’s been  while since we’ve seen a Neglected Nemeses, but I’m back and this time around I’m highlighting one of the biggest bad-asses in the Marvel Universe; a being that has been the bane of the mighty X-Men on many occasions. The one and only Apocalypse. Few rogues have ever been able to have such [...]

Phoenix Comicon 2013: Esquiville Panel

Phoenix Comicon 2013: Esquiville Panel

At Phoenix Comicon 2013, I had the pleasure to catch up with comic book author Eric M. Esquivel (Wiki), we talked about a number of things like being a freelancer writer, writing Freelancers for BOOM! Studios, Topo and Aquaman, school bullies, comic books and so much more. I was caught by surprise when he invited me [...]

Neglected Nemeses: Kingpin

Neglected Nemeses: Kingpin

Typically with this series, I try to take on rogues that are a bit more obscure and a bit less obvious, a majority of which have yet to be seen in a big screen production. However, there are a few villains that were either handled so poorly in other films, or just need a revamp, that I [...]

The Neglected Nemeses: Darkseid

The Neglected Nemeses: Darkseid

Looking back at Bryan Singer’s take on Superman, one of the glaring faux pas is the lack of Supes hitting things. I think he spent more time being hit than the opposite. One thing fans of the character know is that Superman needs to be hitting things…or people. How about we bring in a character that is ruthless, cold and brutal and would certainly provide for some thrilling action scenes for a film, as well as a character that has yet to be touched outside Warner Brother’s animated series and films?

May the Fourth Be With You? How Cliche!

May the Fourth Be With You? How Cliche!

As I was prepping myself for work this morning, pampering myself with my manly-man products, I heard a promo being run on a local radio station where they were going to give away two front row tickets to the ReAL Salt Lake soccer game this Saturday night. The station gave away the tickets to the [...]

Before Watchmen: The Clock Strikes Midnight

Before Watchmen: The Clock Strikes Midnight

After a year of publication, the clock has struck midnight for the Before Watchmen line of books.  Before Watchmen Comedian #6 was released this past week, which officially ended the line.  There were rumors that an epilogue issue was going to be released, but DC seems to have swept that rumor under the rug.  But [...]

The Neglected Nemeses: Harley Quinn

The Neglected Nemeses: Harley Quinn

While Batman arguably has some of the best rogues out there, they are also some of the hardest to portray on the big screen in such a way that both does the character justice and makes them believable and relevant. Mr. Freeze and Poison Ivy are perfect examples of that. In Batman & Robin, both [...]

The Remake of the Cult Classic Delivers Thrills, Gore and More

“Evil Dead” Review: Breathing Life Into a Classic Franchise

In 1983, Sam Raimi’s cult horror classic, “The Evil Dead” was released. It has gone down as one of the most influential horror films of all time. 30 years later, a remake, “Evil Dead” was released by director Fede Alvarez. Like Raimi, “Evil Dead” serves as the directorial debut of Alvarez. The plot of the [...]

The Neglected Nemeses: Deathstroke

The Neglected Nemeses: Deathstroke

One of the first names that pops up when asked which DC villain needs to be features in a film is Deathstroke, the rogue who has been one of the most popular for the Teen Titans. However, this assassin has also been on the side of “good” when needed. Many will tell you that he is the DC version of Deadpool, or vice-versa, and it is hard to dispute the similarities. In the long run, I think that Deathstroke is a baddie that should be taken a bit more seriously than his Marvel counterpart, as he is a man that has a purpose and nothing will get in his way.

is this the possible dvd cover?

The Hardcore Review: No Clowning Around

Today I review a short film by the former wrestling personality, Rob Dimension. The film, No Clowning Around, the very macabre story of a sad sack clown who performs for children’s parties. Thing is, he’s a drunk and a total screw up. The only light to his otherwise miserable life is the woman he loves. [...]

The Neglected Nemeses: Black Tom Cassidy

The Neglected Nemeses: Black Tom Cassidy

In this installment of The Neglected Nemeses,  we are headed back tot he Marvel Universe and the X-Men mythos, with a villain that is often over-looked as a substantial bad guy. The X-Men film franchise has been the topic of many debates, mostly due to its timeline and the use of random characters, rather than [...]

Who is Boo Boo Stewart Playing in Days of Future Past? How About Forge?

We just barely dropped some news that Daniel Cudmore will be reprising his role of Colossus in Brian Singers upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past film. The Neglected Nemeses: Ares

In this installment of The Neglected Nemeses, we look at one of the biggest, baddest mo-fos that Wonder Woman has had to face. But, he has not always gone by this name, as during most of the Golden Age, Silver Age and Bronze age of comics, he went by the name of Mars, the name [...]

COUNTDOWN TO MAN OF STEEL: Max Fleischer’s SUPERMAN (1941-1942)

COUNTDOWN TO MAN OF STEEL: Max Fleischer’s SUPERMAN (1941-1942)

It’s on its way… Maybe not faster than a speeding bullet, but Warner Brothers, DC Comics, and Hollywood in general, are giving Zack Snyder‘s soon-to-release Supes reboot epic more power than a locomotive in ensuring it is a big hit. And Comic Book Therapy will be there, bringing the scoops as release time draws near. [...]
