One of the cornerstones of both Dark Horse’s publishing and product line in recent years, has been the massive video game franchise, Mass Effect.

To date, Dark Horse Deluxe has released four different ships, as well as limited edition variant, and high end editions. Up next is the Turian cruiser, which bears some slight resemblance to the Normandy, due to the cooperative effort between the Turians and the human race in the Alliance ship’s construction. Season 3 of AMC’s The Walking Dead© television series again shatter records and claimed the title of most watched drama in basic cable history. McFarlane Toys is ready to bring fans even more of their favorite characters, living or otherwise, with the official announcement of the fourth series of action figures based on hit show!

Now let’s take a quick look at the new figures ready to join your Walking Dead collection!

ANDREA

Strong-willed and capable of dispatching Walkers with an almost chilling ease, Andrea is an original member of the group of survivors led by Rick. Separated from her friends during the chaos at Hershel’s farm, Andrea has fought hard to make it through a number of dark days–first with the aid of Michonne, and later against the sadistic will of her one-time lover, The Governor. This action-figure comes with 22 points of articulation, pistol with leg holster, sniper rifle, and pitchfork from Hershel’s farm for fending off the undead.

THE GOVERNOR

The charismatic leader of the seemingly utopian town of Woodbury, The Governor plays the role of stern, but just, leader–a hero and source of confidence and hope to the people he protects. But, the role he plays and the man he truly is are too very different things. Beneath his well-meaning facade is man capable of acts of violence and dread that could make even a Walker’s skin crawl. This action-figure includes 22 points of articulation, an alternate head without eyepatch, pistol with hip holster, hunting knife with sheath, and large knife.

CARL GRIMES

The son of Rick and Lori Grimes, Carl has gone from being a reserved, fearful child to becoming a true battle-hardened Walker dispatcher. As the youngest original Atlanta survivor, Carl has been forced to grow up brutally fast with little to no room for childhood amenities. Accessories for this figure includes 22 points of articulation, a hunting knife with sheath, prison medical bag, prison keys, and a removable sheriff’s hat given to him by his father, Rick.

RIOT GEAR ZOMBIE & RIOT GEAR GAS MASK ZOMBIE

All Walkers are dangerous, but some pose a greater threat than others. Covered from head to toe in body armor, the riot gear zombies prove to be difficult to exterminate. In order to secure the prison, Rick and the group must come up with inventive ways to dispose of these Walkers.

The Riot Gear Zombie includes a flip-action helmet and Maggie’s knife for head-stabbing action, while the Gas Mask Zombie features removable gas mask to expose skull. Pairing these two armored walkers together forms a threat like none the survivors have ever known! (each sold separately)

THE DIXON BROTHER 2-PACK

Two badass, backwoods, rebel yelling redneck brothers thrust against an unyielding onslaught of ravenous undead. Both original Atlanta survivors, Daryl and Merle Dixon have proven time and again, blood is thicker than brain matter! Family reunions can be a bitter sweet pill to swallow, especially in a world inhabited by The Walking Dead!

Both of these highly detailed figures for this much anticipated 2-pack feature the exact likeness of the characters from the show, using a 3D scan of actors themselves. The Daryl Dixon figure comes 20 points of articulation, crossbow, hunting knife, fire axe, pick axe, and prison keys. The Merle Dixon figure is re-armed and ready for action with 20 points of articulation, prosthetic arm with bayonet, assault rifle, pistol, and knife.

Agent Burgos, Collectors Corner: ‘THE WALKING DEAD’ TV ACTION FIGURES SERIES 4 ANNOUNCED

MILWAUKIE, OR–At this year’s International Toy Fair, Dark Horse revealed what is sure to be one of the year’s most-talked-about toy releases! Hong Kong’s innovative designer-toy company Toy2R will produce a new range of 5” vinyl figures in their popular “Mini-Qee” format, putting their unique design spin on Mike Mignola’s popular Hellboy character.

Mike Mignola’s Hellboy has emerged as one of the classic comic book characters of the modern day, spawning a successful series of graphic novels, motion pictures, animation, interactive games, and toy lines. Excitement around this character is at an all-time high, as Mignola takes him back to whence he came in the smash-hit series Hellboy in Hell, currently in its third issue.

Raymond Choy’s Toy2R is recognized as being among the first companies to explore the potential of the designer/art toy movement since their arrival in 1995. Choy managed to turn his passion for collectible toys into an internationally known company, which today continues to push the boundaries of product design, art, and graphics.

“We couldn’t be more excited to be involved in this program,” Dark Horse Product Development head David Scroggy said. “We have worked with Toy2R for many years, and to see their fun take on Hellboy is a thrill. These vinyl figures will be in very tight edition quantities, so we expect a quick sellout of most of the variants.”

Toy2R’s trademark Qee format gives Hellboy a new look, altering his appearance in several ways, all of which were personally approved by Mignola. The results have already gotten comics fans and toy collectors alike talking, after they were revealed on Tomopop last week. All three were on display at the Dark Horse exhibit booth at this year’s Toy Fair at the Jacob Javits Center.

Dark Horse Comics is the exclusive North American distributor of the Hellboy Mini-Qee line and will handle sales to the specialty market in Europe and other territories. Toy2R will be the exclusive sales entity to Asian territories.

Slated for release in July 2013, the figures will be produced in various limited edition sizes, all with a retail price of $19.99.

Cody "The Thorverine" Ferrell, Toy Fair 2013: Marvel Toys Roundup

Toy Fair 2013 is in full swing today. We’ll be bringing you some of the more interesting things we find, but the clear winner so far are these two Batman figures from NECA. We get a double Bam! Pow! of Batman with our first look (via Toy Ark) at the 1989 and 1966 1/4th scale Batman figures due out later this year. The first one is Tim Burton’s Batman as portrayed by Michael Keaton and the second is the classic Adam West Batman.  The little plagues you see under the toys say “Not Final” and “Pending Licensor Approval” There may be a few tweaks, but these are what we’ll be seeing around July.  Stitch Kingdom also gives us another glimpse at the Classic Batman line of toys unveiling a Robin figure, a Batman with surfboard, and the other toys for Riddler, Penguin, Batman, and the Batmobile we’ve already glimpsed. There’s also a look at the Catwoman and Batman Barbie dolls. What do you think?

Hey Walking Dead fans we got some cool news! McFarlane has announced the upcoming Comic Series 2 figures of The Walking Dead!  

Slap on your riot gear and grab the nearest zombie head bashing apparatus, because McFarlane Toys is excited to announce the second comic series inspired by the highly acclaimed, Eisner Awarding-winning The Walking Dead comic book series from creator/writer Robert Kirkman.

The Walking Dead, the top-selling graphic novels of 2011 and 2012, from Kirkman’s Skybound imprint at Image Comics, tells the story of the months and years that come after the zombie apocalypse. It follows a group of survivors, led by Rick Grimes, who travel in search of safety and security, all while fending off the hordes of undead and even deadlier humans they encounter on their journey.

GLENN
Glenn, an original Atlanta survivor, has become crucial to the survival of Rick’s group due to his ability and agility at getting in-and-out of zombie-infested areas in order to search for food and supplies. Glenn, in full riot gear, features 28 points of articulation and is equipped with two pistols, riot shield, baton, gas can, and removable helmet with flip-up visor.

THE GOVERNOR
Zombies are not the only threat to Rick and his band of survivors, the Governor is truly the first human antagonist that the group encounters within the comic series. The Governor features 28 points of articulation and includes a kitchen knife, pistol, and alternate mutilated head & right arm.

MICHONNE’S PET ZOMBIE
It’s not until Mike, Michonne’s boyfriend, is bit by a zombie that Michonne discovers the true nature of the zombie epidemic. A bite is a death sentence! Michonne quickly realizes that Zombies don’t attack other Zombies and uses Mike as camouflage and protection against the hordes of the undead awaiting her in this new world. Michonne’s Pet Zombie features 17 points of articulation and includes a neck collar & chain, tear off arms & jaw, and push in/ pull out intestines.

PENNY, THE GOVERNOR’S DAUGHTER ZOMBIE
Nothing is stronger than a father daughter bond, as we see with The Governor and his daughter Penny. Infected early on with the zombie virus, Penny has been cared for and fed by her unconditionally loving father. Penny features 12 points of articulation and includes a bucket of fresh body parts (severed leg, severed foot, severed hand, intestines, heart and Rick’s severed hand) that the Governor feeds to her. Figure also includes a fish tank with trophy heads collected by her father. One of the heads can be used as an alternate head for Michonne’s Pet Zombie Mike, allowing you to build Michonne’s 2nd pet and Mike’s best friend, Terry.

BLOODY BLACK & WHITE THE GOVERNOR WITH ZOMBIE DAUGHTER 2-PACK
