Cartoon Network Officially Drops BEWARE THE BATMAN
Earlier this week, news broke that Cartoon Network had pulled the new animated Beware The Batman series from its upcoming schedule. Not much more information was given about why or what their long range plans were for the series. But fans are all too familiar with what this meant. It had previously happened with two very popular series in Young Justice and Green Lantern: The Animated Series last year. Sadly (depending on who you are), it looks as though the latest DC animated series will suffer the same fate.
Comic Book Resources has received confirmation that Cartoon Network will no longer be airing the series. “Currently, ‘Beware the Batman’ is no longer on our air. DC Nation will continue on Saturday mornings at 10/9c with new exclusive shorts and a full hour of encore episodes of ‘Teen Titans Go!'” This Saturday would have marked the return of new episodes, starting with “Attraction,” featuring the return of Magpie.
For those not familiar with the series, it paired a younger Bruce Wayne with an ex-secret agent Alfred Pennyworth and the swordsman Katana. The trio would tackle some of Gotham’s more obscure baddies, such as Professor Pyg. No word on the fate of the series, if it will move to a new network or just fade off into oblivion, but I’m guessing the latter.
