Carrie Fisher Confirms Involvement in Star Wars: Episode VII
It’s been a few weeks since we’ve had some news on the Star Wars front, which isn’t a bad thing as we were being inundated with rumors and speculation as to stories, new films and casting. Today, however, we have some solid information in regards to one of the original actors from the first trilogy.
Carrie Fisher, known for playing Princess Leia, has confirmed that she will be taking part in the latest installment in the huge Star Wars franchise. She wouldn’t go into detail about how her character will be integrated or how big the part will be, but at least we know she will be involved. For some time now, it’s been rumored that Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill would be reprising their respective roles of Han Solo and Luke Skywalker, but we’ve yet to receive confirmation on that. In fact, both JJ Abrams and producer Kathleen Kennedy have denied the potential reunion. I don’t know about you, but I can’t imagine a Star Wars film that includes Leia and not Luke or Han.
As the film gets closer to production, we’ll obviously get more info on stories and casting. As it stands now, the film is slated for a summer 2015 release date, along with two other huge film releases in Avengers 2 and the potential Justice League film.
